Levi:
What is the name of your most memorable sermon?
JVB: “IT’S TIME TO PUT AWAY THE TOY’S”; A message
that I preached in the ‘80’s coming from 1 Corinthians 13:11. Paul says, “When I was a child, I spake as
a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”
Levi: What
inspires you in life?
JVB:
My family inspires me, first and foremost. In their own way, they ALL keep me focused and pushing me to the next dimension.
Most of my teachers (school & Sunday school), strong leaders, international, national and local.
Levi: What
is your favorite color?
JVB:
My favorite colors in the past have been everything from navy blue to a brief moment when almost everyone liked and was wearing….
you remember…. lavender (oh my God!). Now it’s all about earth tones for me. I love them all.
I can’t leave out BLACK. I can sport black any day.
Levi: What is one goal you have
for the next 5 years?
JVB:
My desire is to see New Jerusalem ICM operating successfully and meeting the needs of the people (spiritually and physically)
in the city of Richmond, VA and all surrounding counties with a headquarters for global ministry at “The River”.
Levi: What is your favorite movie?
JVB: My “All
time” favorite movie would be “The Wizard of Oz” not “The Wiz”, but I also like “Coming
to America”, “Color Purple”, or “Meet the Family (Faulkers)”, they all came later. I don’t
know why but every time “The Wizard of Oz” comes on I just have to stop and watch it…… “THERE’S
NO PLACE LIKE HOME”
Levi:
Who do you look up to as a role model or mentor?
JVB: My Dad (deceased) and Mom, hands down.
Levi: What is your favorite
food?
JVB:
Pasta and Beef, give me Pasta Luna’s (a Richmond thing) and Ruth’s Chris Steak House any day. On other days I’ll
take a salad and baked potato from Ruby Tuesdays. I guess I answered food and restaurant.
